Go Gaga for this Lady

FIVE-time Grammy Award winner Lady Gaga is set to make a return to the stage, with her Born This Way Ball tour.

Gaga will perform songs from her latest album Born This Way, as well as music from both The Fame and The Fame Monster.

The Born This Way Ball, produced globally by Live Nation, will begin on April 27 in Seoul, South Korea and will travel the globe, including cities that Gaga has never played.

Lady Gaga's last tour - The Monster Ball - captivated audiences around the globe, receiving rave reviews in every city.

The Sun called it "the best live show you will see this year" and the Pollstar Concert Industry Awards named it the Major Tour of the Year.
"The Haus of Gaga and I have worked for months conceiving a spectacular stage," said Mother Monster.

"The Born This Way Ball is an electro-metal pop-opera; the tale of the beginning, the genesis of the Kingdom of Fame.

"How we were birthed and how we will die celebrating."
The Born This Way Ball will be Lady Gaga's first tour since the release of her album Born This Way, which has sold nearly six million copies worldwide since its release in May last year.

The album is the follow up to back-to-back Grammy Award-winning albums, 2009's The Fame Monster, and 2008's The Fame.
Combined, The Fame and The Fame Monster have sold 15 million albums worldwide, while Lady Gaga's hit singles have combined sales of more than 65 million worldwide.

Gaga was named Forbes' Most Powerful Woman in the World 2011 and was included in the annual "The 2010 Time 100" list of the most influential people in the world.

With more than 2.2 billion combined views of all her videos online, Lady Gaga is one of the biggest living people on Facebook, with more than 47 million 'likes'.

She is number one on Twitter, with nearly 19 million followers.
Lady Gaga is the only artist in the digital era to top the five million sales mark with her first two hits.

Tickets for The Born This Way Ball go on sale for Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Auckland from Friday at 9am sharp, at livenation.com.au.

Tickets to all Australian shows are available through ticketek.com.au 132 849.
Lady Gaga will perform at Brisbane Entertainment Centre on June 13.

Rihanna tops Lady Gaga as YouTube Queen

Fan site Rihanna Daily reports the Barbadian pop star has overthrown Lady Gaga for the title of “Queen of YouTube.“

As of yesterday’s report, Rihanna has clocked a total of 2,033,848,822 video views, which is over 2 million more than Gaga’s…and growing daily.

The YouTube crown comes on the heels of Rihanna’s recent billing as “Queen of Facebook” late last year where, coincidentally, she also replaced Gaga.

Rihanna was also recently named the “Queen of Digital Downloads” - Nielsen SoundScan reported she had sold more than 47 million digital tracks to the end of 2011.

The Rihanna/Gaga titles debate amongst fans is sure to continue.

This week, Rihanna announced that the title track to her latest album, “Talk That Talk” (featuring Jay Z), will be her next single.

Gauging the Lady Gaga Galaxy

Lady Gaga recently topped the ultimate media maven Oprah Winfrey in Forbes magazine as the world's most powerful celebrity. Billboard projected one million sales for the first week's release of her new album "Born This Way." Whatever your opinion about Gaga, she seems to be conquering the world one palatable pop beat at a time. So, what is the secret to her meteoric success?
There are countless talented, piano-playing singers drudging through the New York club scene trying to make it. Gaga made it bigger than she could've ever imagined. She once said in an interview with John Norris for "Noisevox," "I did pop music the way indie rock bands do rock n' roll." She built her career from the ground up.
The media specialists and public relations companies hired by Gaga's record label may in part be responsible for her popularity but ultimately it's her and her content that draws fans. She has taken over twitter with more than 10.5 million followers because people want to hear what she has to say. She exudes the perfect mix of charisma, talent, depth, originality and humbleness. Plus she births infectious beats people want to hear, or else no one would care about the rest.
On May 14, 2011 Gaga posted a YouTube message to her fans saying, "Thank you for supporting my artistic vision and always letting me be myself. I will always fight to the death for you to be yourself." This familial and familiar relationship between the Mother Monster and her Little Monster fans has produced a pantheistic pop religion. In her "Good Morning America" appearance earlier this month Gaga said about her fans, "They're my family, for sure."
Gaga was asked during her "GMA" interview what she would be doing if she wasn't famous. Her apt response was, "Well, I would still be a singer. I just wouldn't be famous." Asked if she ever thought of doing anything else she said, "That would be so awful, wouldn't it? If I just gave up because nobody bought my music? I just really love what I do."
The dictionary definition of gaga is to be "marked by wild enthusiasm: infatuated, doting." Complex theories aside, this could be the simple key to Gaga's fame and influence. It's the lesson Oprah Winfrey, the woman Gaga eclipsed on the Forbes' list, offered in her final episode. She urged her audience, " -- know what sparks the light in you so that you, in your own way, can illuminate the world."
Just like Gaga does in every appearance and performance, Oprah said people who found their calling, " -- lit up the stage with their passion." Perhaps beyond talent and luck, that's the real magic of Gaga. Her passion is the secret to her fame and ultimate pop legend longevity. Gaga pursued her calling and now illuminates the world.
