Time Magazine names Lady Gaga one of Top 100 fashion icons

We have Time, a once-popular newsmagazine, to thank for completely changing the definition of “fashion.” The magazine has now listed Lady Gaga in its “All-Time Top 100 Fashion Icons.”
Fashion icons are typically those people who dress classy or who others would want to dress like.
We don’t know you’re style, but we can assume you wouldn’t want to wear a meat dress or have an outfit made out of Kermit the Frog dolls.
So, what was Time’s reason for naming her a fashion icon? “Lady Gaga is just as notorious for her outrageous style as she is for her pop hits,” the website says, “Gaga has [even] partnered with brands like Giorgio Armani on tour outfits.”
Next time you don’t feel like picking out an outfit in the morning – just grab some duck tape and a dish towel. We’re sure you’ll create something equivalent to one of Gaga’s famous looks and you too could be a “fashion icon.”

Lady Gaga 2012: 'Marry The Night' Singer To Ignore Media, Top 5 Most Memorable Quotes

Lady Gaga, the pop sensation known for her attention-grabbing fashion and performances, told Oprah Winfrey that she plans to cut all connection with the media.

When talking to the iconic show host for her special airing Sunday, "Oprah's Next Chapter," the "Born This Way" singer said she is taking a break from interviews, according to The Chicago Tribune.
"Other than this interview, Oprah, I do not intend to speak to anyone for a very long time," she said. "No press, no television, if my mom calls and says, 'Did you hear about that' I shut it all off."
This is a change of pace for the eccentric singer, as the 25-year-old has been known for media stunts. Her distinguished meat dress has become a staple of the pop star's image, and her 2009 performance of 'Paparazzi' at MTV's VMA ceremony was one of her first eye-catching endeavors.
With the starlet preparing for her media vow of silence, here's a recap of some of Lady Gaga's most memorable quotes.
1. "Some women choose to follow men, and some women choose to follow their dreams. If you're wondering which way to go, remember that your career will never wake up and tell you that it doesn't love you anymore."- Cosmopolitan Magazine, 2010
2. "Pop stars should not eat." - New York Magazine, 2010
3. "I had a boyfriend who told me I'd never succeed, never be nominated for a Grammy, never have a hit song, and that he hoped I'd fail. I said to him, 'Someday, when we're not together, you won't be able to order a cup of coffee at the f--king deli without hearing or seeing me." -Cosmopolitan Magazine, 2010.
4. "I'm terrified of therapy because I don't want it to mess with my creativity." -Rolling Stone, 2010
5. "I have the right to choose whether or not I want to be a celebrity, and I don't want to be one...I'd much rather people write about what I wear and what I'm singing and what I do in my videos than about who I'm f--king. I mean, that, for me, is the kiss of death." -Rolling Stone, 2010.

Lady Gaga hair loss admission after years of bleach

The internationally famous pop star Lady Gaga has admitted that years of bleaching and dyeing her locks has caused her to suffer hair loss.
Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, is believed to be a natural brunette. However, in order to keep up her controversial, creative and experimental image, the pop star has dyed and bleached her hair every colour under the sun.
According to an interview in People magazine, Gaga’s passion for colour is taking its toll on her hair. She reportedly said that she had to “get a chemical haircut because my blonde hair is falling out.”
Hair can withstand only so much, and can begin to break, become brittle and even fall out if it is subjected to excessive chemical treatments or heat. This kind of hair loss is only temporary, but the hair and hair follicles will require a decent amount of time in which to recover.
Whilst the hair rejuvenates itself, most people with this kind of hair loss choose to cover or disguise the affected areas with hair replacement solutions such as human hair wigs or natural, super-fine hair extensions.

Lady Gaga's 14-minute music video puzzles, pleases

Lady Gaga made her music video directorial debut with a 14-minute production which was met on Friday with a mix of weariness and adulation by fans and pop culture watchers.

"Marry the Night" -- the fifth single from her "Born This Way" album -- sees the Grammy-winning performance artist making a trip to the hospital, dying her hair mint green, throwing Cheerios over her naked body and hanging upside down in a car -- all in the eight minutes before the song comes in.
Gaga, 25, told E! News that the surreal video, released on Thursday, was a portrait of the day she thought she saw her dreams slipping away from her when she was dropped from her first record label.
It was, she said, "one of the worst days in my life," but added that parts of the video were "meant to be comical."
People magazine called the video "an enigma" and said the autobiographical clip will "certainly leave fans talking, if not scratching their heads."
"AMAZING. Not just a pop singer, she's an artist," wrote Danny on the E! online message boards.
But others were clearly beginning to tire of the outrageous pop star and wondered whether Gaga was losing her touch.
"She has gone from bold to being an exhibitionist. You can't help but wonder if she has gone from a normal person to actually believing she is the persona. Poor girl," wrote Marko on the E! online board.
But Michael Gragg, writing for Britain's Guardian newspaper website, liked the fact that Lady Gaga was "embracing the ridiculous."
"Superstars are at their best when they're simultaneously aware and unaware of their own ridiculousness, and that's what 'Marry the Night' delivers for Lady Gaga. Oh, and the song's pretty good too," Gragg wrote on Friday.
Despite widespread publicity for the music video, and a performance by Lady Gaga of the new song on a Grammy nominations concert on U.S. television on Wednesday, "Marry the Night" has so far failed to catch fire.
On Friday, the song was in 38th place on the U.S. iTunes singles charts.
"I think she needs to do more editing of her creative ideas and songs ... If she gets too difficult to relate to she'll lose her fans by losing sight of the reasons they love her: fantasy, escape and her ideas about relationships, love and hard work," wrote Dragnfly on the People.com comments page.

Lady Gaga Is Windswept And Whimsical On British 'Elle'

To say that Lady Gaga is "on a roll" by adding this cover of British Elle to her arsenal of glossy-gracing conquests would not only be a vast understatement but probably warrant some a stank eye or two pregnant with the all too-clear message of, "Gurl, where have you BEEN?" It's not like she's just all of a sudden ev-uh-ree-where. Girl has been straight dominating life since inking the first word of "Just Dance." From there, her star has only sky-rocketed at break-neck speed, like "BLAST OFF" speed, like "Quick, someone help me buckle this seat belt!!", like "I'm goooin' off the raaails on a crazy traaaaiiiiinnnn" *crickets* ... *achem* ANYWAY, the point here is that it's not necessarily new to see Gaga's face on the nearest newstand, but what IS notable is the wonderful job she does making each subsequent sighting of her visage feel so fresh, like such uncharted land for your oculars that it hardly matters.
Donning the thick-banged bob style that Mother Monster has been rocking intermittently all year, Gaga snaps a soft glance back at the camera. Her luminous skin and flaxen hair against the white seamless create such happy-making good feelings on our brains and provide the perfect backdrop for all that seafoam netting (sidenote: are you there, Yüyi?) and the exquisiteness that is that brown smokey eye. Also, coverlines. Of course. All the lightness and pretty pastels are drawing us up out of thoughts of dropping temps and frozen precipitation into a world plush with greenery, fairy dust is real, and everyone is provided with personal wind machines. Peep Elle UK's behind-the-cover shoot video for more Gaga goodness!
